Gilead and Beyond

I wear a stiff black uniform in order to show my prestige and power over all of the lesser humans (Marthas, Handmaids, eyes, guardians, and wives). I have naturally red hair, but I use hair dye that I obtain on the Black Market to dye my hair black, because red hair does not look as formal as black. Whenever I can, I smoke the ciggarettes that I get off of the Black Market. I always dream that one day, someone will notice how good of a job I'm doing, and promote me to a Commander; I have always dreamed of leaving this role of an enforcer of the law. My worst nightmare is that someone will discover that I am actually a women.
